Shrimp Alfredo - July 20, 2011

Hi Everyone!

Today we are doing Italian.  I absolutely looooooove Italian food and could probably eat it 7 days a week.  But you know what they say, "A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips!"  This recipe for Shrimp Alfredo is absolutely decadent, so when you're ready to splurge on calories, this is the dish.

The following ingredients are needed:

* 1-2 lbs. of shrimp
* Fresh Parmesan Cheese
* 1 qt. light or heavy cream, they taste the same to me.
* 1-2 scoops of butter or margarine
* Angel Hair Pasta
* Tomatos
* Mushrooms
* Fresh Spinach or Broccoli
* Flour

Clean and season the shrimp.  I like to sautee' my shrimp before adding them to the sauce.

Start boiling the water for the pasta before slicing your veggies.  Bring to a boil and add the pasta.

In a pot, melt the butter.  Slowly add the cream while whisking until smooth.  Bring mixture to a boil.  Note: You don't have to add butter if you want to watch your calories.

Slowly add the parmesan cheese and continue to whisk until smooth.

Before adding the shrimp and veggies, taste your sauce and season to taste.

Once satisfied with flavor, add the shrimp and veggies.  If you have any drippings from sauteeing your shrimp, add that as well to the sauce.  The drippings give the sauce a nice flavor.

Spoon over pasta, top with parsley and serve!

What's great about this dish is that you can get creative and put your own spin on it.  It's great for a family meal or an intimate dinner.

Please feel free to e-mail me with questions.  Let me know how yours' turned out!
