Barbecue Spare Ribs - July 18, 2011

Hi Everyone!

As hot as it was yesterday, I ended up making ribs in the oven.  Many of my friends have expressed to me how much they enjoy my ribs.  I have been asked on many occasion how I prepare them because they are flavorful and tender.  I happen to like my sauce sweet and somewhat tangy.  My husband Phillip likes the same flavor, but with a little bit of heat, so we compromise.

The following ingredients are needed:

* Ribs (I like the pre-cut ribs, but a slab is fine as well)
* White Vinegar
* Meat Tenderizer
* Morton's Nature's Seasoning
* Black Pepper
* Original Mrs. Dash

Preheat your oven to 400.
Spray roasting pan with oil so that the ribs are easy to move around as they cook.
Season your meat with seasonings I've suggested or use your favorite seasonings.
I then use a cap of vinegar on each side of the ribs.  Rub the vinegar and seasonings into the meat.
Add  about a cup or 2 water your pan, just enough so that the meat is not covered.
Cover your meat and place the pan in the oven for 2-3 hours.
I baste my meat once an hour so that the meat becomes juicy and tender.
Once your meat has become brown and tender, your ribs are done.
Slather your favorite sauce on one side of your ribs, and place back in the oven.  Turn your ribs over and repeat the same process.
Serve with your favorite sides.
What Phillip and I do is sauce the ribs and put them on the grill for that smokey flavor.
You'll be licking the sauce off of your fingers in no time!
Enjoy!
